Unwanted calls and texts in Missouri: what the rules say
Missouri’s No-Call law expressly includes voice calls, SMS, and MMS messages for certain sales purposes. Its consumer remedy is narrow: it requires more than one knowing violation in a 12-month period by or for the same entity.
Where the rules draw a line
The state Attorney General maintains the list. The law has exceptions, including certain prior-consent, existing-relationship, and appointment-related contacts.
What this can mean for a consumer
A qualifying consumer may seek an injunction and actual loss or up to $5,000 per knowing violation, whichever is greater. Separate Attorney General penalties are public enforcement, not consumer payments.
Keep the details
Save the full text thread, call log, voicemails, dates and times, the company or product named, and any reply asking the sender to stop. Those details can help show what happened; they do not establish by themselves that a law was violated.
