Unwanted calls and texts in New Mexico: what the rules say
New Mexico residents can use the National Do Not Call Registry. The New Mexico Public Regulation Commission directs consumers to that federal list and explains that the state does not maintain a separate Do Not Call list.
Where the rules draw a line
The FTC and FCC handle the national registry. Certain political calls are outside its restrictions. A robocall or spam text may raise different questions from a live sales call, so keep the message and the details rather than relying only on a spam label.
What this can mean for a consumer
Register or report a covered sales call through DoNotCall.gov. A report is different from a claim for compensation. The federal TCPA and any applicable state consumer-protection rules have their own requirements.
Keep the details
Save the full text thread, call log, voicemails, dates and times, the company or product named, and any reply asking the sender to stop. Those details can help show what happened; they do not establish by themselves that a law was violated.
